Fair Housing complaints

Federal law prohibits housing discrimination based on your race, color, national origin, religion, sex, family status, or disability. If you have been trying to buy or rent a home or apartment and you believe your rights have been violated, you can file a fair housing complaint.
You can call the Department of Housing and Urban Development  toll-free 1 (800) 669-9777, or file a complaint on-line.

The  Commission enforces the human relations ordinance, which prohibits discrimination in employment, housing, real estate and public accommodations against the federally protected classes and on the basis of age or marital status. In addition, the Commission endeavors to foster good will among different groups in the community. The Commission accepts and investigates complaints of discrimination, and attempts to mediate them. If mediation is unsuccessful, the case goes to a public hearing.
